New Delhi: The Department of Physics and Astrophysics, Central University of Haryana, celebrated its annual function, AAYAM-2026, on June 5, 2026, with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, as Chief Guest, along with Pro- Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar and Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar as Guests of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar congratulated the department on its achievements and encouraged students to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, and cultural activities alongside their studies. He emphasized that holistic personality development requires not only academic excellence but also active engagement in creative, cultural, and sports activities.
The programme commenced with Ganesh Vandana, followed by the welcome of guests and presentation of tokens of appreciation. Head of the Department, Prof. Ankush Vij, presented
the annual report highlighting the department’s academic, research, cultural, and extracurricular achievements. Cultural performances, including a poetry recitation and a vibrant Rajasthani folk dance, added color to the celebration.
Academic toppers, sports achievers, and student office bearers were felicitated for their outstanding contributions. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries congratulated the department on its achievements and encouraged students to pursue holistic development through active participation in academic and co-curricular activities. Prof. Sunita Srivastava and Dr. Meenu Thakur organized the function.
The event also featured a colorful ramp walk by final-year students and an engaging dance performance by faculty members. The celebrations concluded on a joyful note, reflecting the department’s commitment to academic excellence, cultural diversity, and overall personality development.
