Jindal Stainless, Municipal Corporation Hisar and NGOs join hands for Mega Cleanliness Drives under ‘Swachh Hisar, Harit Hisar’ campaign

New Delhi: Under the leadership of Smt. Savitri Jindal, Hon’ble MLA from Haryana and Chairperson Emeritus of the O P Jindal Group, Jindal Stainless, India’s leading stainless steel manufacturer, in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation Hisar (MCH), organised Mega Cleanliness Drives across key locations in the city. As part of the ‘Swachh Hisar, Harit Hisar’ campaign, the drive held on January 17, 2026 witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 260 volunteers, supported by seven partnering NGOs.

 

Aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission, the prime objective of this campaign is to promote awareness around cleanliness, waste management, and environmental responsibility, while encouraging citizens to adopt responsible civic habits. The cleanliness drives were carried out across the green belts of Sector 14, Mill Gate, and Model Town, in association with NGOs namely Green Dream Foundation, Green Earth Organisation, Green Global Group, Green Hisar Fit Hisar, Hamara Pyara Hisar, Hari Bhari Vasundhara and Why Waste Wednesday Foundation. Volunteers actively participated in cleaning green belts and public spaces, while also interacting with residents to highlight the importance of maintaining clean surroundings. Additional cleanliness drives are planned across the city in the coming months.

Seema Jindal, daughter of Mrs Savitri Jindal and a strong advocate of Clean Hisar-Green Hisar movement, motivated citizens to take collective responsibility for keeping the green areas free from litter. The drive also saw participation from Mr Praveen Popli, Hon’ble Mayor of Hisar, Ms. Shalini Chetal, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Hisar, Mr. Sanjay Dalmia, Parshad Pratinidhi, Mr. Jagmohan Mittal, Parshad Pratinidhi, Mr. Tinu Jain, Parshad Pratinidhi, Mr. Praveen Jain, RWA Pradhan, and Mr. Ajay Jindal, RWA Pradhan, along with Ms Pritika Chand, Corporate Head of CSR, Jindal Stainless. Their on-ground participation underscored a shared commitment among citizens, civic authorities, and industry towards building cleaner and more sustainable urban spaces.

Speaking about the initiative, Savitri Jindal, Hon’ble MLA from Haryana, and Chairperson Emeritus of the O P Jindal Group, said, “When the community comes together to care for their surroundings, it leads to meaningful change. Hisar has always been close to my heart, and the well-being of its people and environment matters deeply to me. Through the ‘Swachh Hisar, Harit Hisar’ campaign, we are reinforcing the values of cleanliness and environmental responsibility that are central to the larger Swachh Bharat vision. I am heartened by the enthusiastic participation of volunteers, and I hope this initiative inspires lasting civic pride and positive change across Hisar.”

Speaking on the occasion, Niraj, IAS, Municipal Commissioner of Hisar, said, “Cleanliness and environmental responsibility are shared duties that require active participation from citizens, institutions, and industry alike. The ‘Swachh Hisar, Harit Hisar’ campaign reflects the power of collaboration in creating cleaner and healthier urban spaces. We appreciate Jindal Stainless’ continued support and commitment towards strengthening civic hygiene and sustainable practices in Hisar, and we look forward to scaling such initiatives across the city.”
