New Delhi: Loom Solar, India’s fastest-growing bootstrapped solar energy solutions provider and a leading solar tech start-up, has announced its strategic expansion into the utility-scale solar sector with the successful commissioning of four large-scale solar power plants across India. The newly commissioned projects include an 8 MW plant in Tamil Nadu, a 5.3 MW facility in Madhya Pradesh, a 1.1 MW installation in Uttarakhand, and a 3.5 MW plant in Rajasthan.

This expansion marks a significant milestone in Loom Solar’s journey to deliver reliable, scalable, and sustainable energy solutions across diverse geographies. The company’s growing portfolio of utility-scale projects underscores its mission to accelerate India’s renewable energy transformation and support the nation’s pursuit of energy independence.

In line with this vision, Loom Solar unveiled a two-pronged strategy to address the evolving demands of India’s utility-scale market. The approach focuses on deploying large-scale photovoltaic (PV) arrays and integrating battery energy storage systems to ensure grid stability. With India’s per capita electricity consumption projected to grow from 1,395 kWh in FY’24 to approximately 3,675 kWh by 2047, Loom Solar’s initiative aims to deliver comprehensive solar solutions that meet future energy needs while supporting the country’s Net Zero mission.

“The future of India’s energy grid lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate large-scale renewable sources. India’s ambitious goals of energy independence and achieving Net Zero by 2070 are not just aspirations; they are the foundation of our economic future,” said Amod Anand, Cofounder and Director, Loom Solar.

“Our strategy is built on a simple yet powerful principle: a solar plant is only as strong as its ability to provide consistent, reliable power. By coupling our high-efficiency solar modules with advanced battery energy storage solutions, we are ensuring that every unit of energy generated is a stable and resilient asset for the national grid. We are not just building solar plants; we are engineering a more robust, cleaner, and future-ready energy backbone for India,” Anand added.

Loom Solar’s expansion into utility-scale projects is a testament to its commitment to enabling utilities, industries, and communities with forward-looking energy solutions. The company continues to reaffirm its role as India’s homegrown clean-tech leader and a driving force in transforming landscapes into sustainable powerhouses.

Supporting this strategy is Loom Solar’s robust manufacturing infrastructure, which includes a planned 1.2 GW PV module factory and a 100 MW capacity for inverters and batteries. This full-stack approach, combined with the company’s expertise in IoT and AI integrations, is revolutionizing how solar solutions are deployed — evolving from simple hardware sales to intelligent, end-to-end energy ecosystems.

With this expansion, Loom Solar is not only strengthening its presence in the utility-scale segment but also contributing meaningfully to India’s renewable energy goals. The company’s focus on innovation, reliability, and sustainability positions it as a key player in shaping the future of India’s energy landscape.
