Mumbai: Allcargo Gati Limited, a leading player in Express Distribution and Supply Chain Management, has announced a comprehensive operational and technological ramp-up to meet the anticipated surge in shipments during the festive season. The company projects a 20–40% increase in demand, fueled by rising e-commerce, quick-commerce, and overall consumer activity.
To accommodate the spike in volumes, Allcargo Gati has expanded its warehousing footprint with new facilities including 40,000 sq. ft. in Bengaluru, 17,000 sq. ft. in Kolkata, and up to 100,000 sq. ft. in Chennai. An additional 120,000 sq. ft. is planned for Kolkata, reinforcing the company’s strategic readiness for high-volume order processing and dispatch.
On the workforce front, the company is increasing its operational staff by 30%, deploying over 9,000 employees—4,500 of whom will focus on e-commerce logistics. Seasonal recruits undergo a rigorous 7-day training program in simulated environments, covering systems, processes, and advanced material-handling equipment. Incentives linked to attendance and performance, along with recognition and wellness initiatives, aim to boost motivation and retention during peak season.
“We are fully geared up to meet the festive season demand with reinforced capacity, expanded workforce, strategic technology deployment, and comprehensive training modules,” said Ketan Kulkarni, MD and CEO, Allcargo Gati Limited and GESCPL. “The recent GST revision is proving beneficial for express logistics players, enabling cost efficiency and faster deliveries. With our preparedness and experience, we will ensure timely, reliable, and efficient deliveries across metro and tier 2, 3, and 4 markets.”
To bolster its digital infrastructure, Allcargo Gati has invested in handheld scanners, upgraded IT systems, and deployed technology specialists across its sites. Centralized monitoring and agile resource deployment allow rapid response to demand fluctuations.
Further enhancing its digital capabilities, Allcargo Gati has joined the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a Government of India initiative aimed at democratizing digital commerce. Leveraging its nationwide logistics network, AI-powered route optimization, and advanced warehousing, the company now delivers end-to-end solutions across 735 districts, covering 100% of India’s GDP.
This strategic expansion positions Allcargo Gati to deliver speed, precision, and agility throughout the festive season, ensuring seamless logistics for businesses and consumers alike.
