Greater Noida (National Desk): Southwest African country Namibia will launch India’s Digital Payments system later this year. This is as part of the signing of the UPI technology licensing agreement between NPCI and Bank of Namibia in April 2024.

During the Africa visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Wednesday exploring ways to strengthen ties in defence, trade and digital technology.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed on X, “President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and I reviewed the full range of India-Namibia relations during our talks today. Cooperation in areas such as digital technology, defence, security, agriculture, healthcare, education and critical minerals figured prominently in our discussions.”
