New Delhi: BEML Ltd. has secured a โน590 crore contract from the Ministry of Defence for the supply of trawl assemblies to be deployed on the Indian Armyโs T-72 and T-90 tanks, marking a significant step in strengthening Indiaโs defence preparedness and combat engineering capabilities.
The agreement, formally signed and exchanged in New Delhi between senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and BEML, reflects the companyโs continued contribution to indigenous defence manufacturing. These advanced mine trawl systems have been designed and developed in collaboration with DRDO (R&DE, Pune), reducing dependence on imports and aligning with the Government of Indiaโs vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Equipped with multi-layered mine-clearing mechanisms, the systems will enable safe passage for armoured vehicles in mine-infested zones, thereby enhancing the mobility, survivability, and operational effectiveness of mechanised forces. This development reinforces BEMLโs commitment to supporting the Armed Forces with reliable, cost-effective, and technologically advanced solutions for modern battlefield requirements.
