A major violent clash took place at a nightclub located in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area on Sunday, March 24. The incident not only affected the nightlife atmosphere but also left the people present in the club stunned. The clash started due to a dispute over the DJ’s music, which soon turned into violent violence. Dhruv, a witness to the incident, shared a shocking video on Twitter (now Twitter) in which beer bottles, glasses and punches are seen flying during the violent clash. He revealed in the video that a group of men expressed dissatisfaction over the DJ’s music and demanded better songs from the DJ. During this, the DJ’s girlfriend intervened and argued with one of the men, which eventually turned from a small altercation into a major clash.

Dhruv further explained that the DJ initially did not say anything in the dispute as he was playing songs, but as the exchange of words increased, the situation worsened. One man slapped the DJ and the clash took a violent turn. The DJ and his group started throwing beer bottles, glasses and plates at the opponents. A glass was even smashed on a man’s head.

Situation after the clash

The violence did not stop there. Both sides not only exchanged verbal abuses but also got into physical altercations. Once the group of men attacked the DJ and physically harmed him, they left the bar. It was only then that the police were informed about the incident.

In the video, it can be clearly seen that the club’s staff and other guests only stood and watched the violence while the atmosphere turned even more chaotic. Beer bottles, glasses and punches were seen flying in all directions.

Social media reaction

As soon as the incident went viral, many on the internet condemned the violent behaviour and questioned the security arrangements of the club. One user wrote, “No respect for law and order. Sad that some things don’t change despite being educated.”

Another user made a social commentary on the drinking and smoking in clubs and parties, “Most fake people are found drinking and smoking in clubs and parties, trying to look cool. Useless losers!

Similarly, another user satirized the incident, writing, “All with the backdrop of Qutub Minar? Even Ghalib would have a hard time writing such a story.”

Some other users also related the incident with a message, “Another example of how money can’t buy class.”

The incident proved that violence and antisocial behaviour in clubs and nightlife places has now become a serious issue. The incident at this club in South Delhi not only highlighted the lack of security but also showed how careless some people can be towards social discipline and law. After this incident, the question arises that there is a need to tighten security arrangements in clubs and nightlife spots so that such incidents can be prevented.
