Greater Noida (Political Desk): The Uttar Pradesh government has claimed that the Maha Kumbh Mela has generated revenues worth several lakh crores of rupees for the economy of the state. Speaking during the Question Hour of the Budget session of the UP Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Maha Kumbh will help the State’s economy grow by over ₹3 lakh crore.
Samajwadi Party Leader Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday requested to the Chief Minister that he should follow the ancient tradition and make good use of this money for welfare because the tradition has not been to earn money from Kumbh but to donate the money earned.
Akhilesh Yadav urged:
– From this earned money, arrangements should be made to compensate the families of the deceased and provide better treatment to the injured.
– Some of this money should be saved to find the thousands of people who are missing and send them home.
– This huge income should be used to compensate the losses of those shopkeepers who have suffered losses by setting up shops in the fair due to the mismanagement of the Uttar Pradesh government.
– Some amount from this should be announced as Holi bonus to all fair workers.
– Taking inspiration from the great donor Emperor Harshvardhan, the Honorable should donate most of the money for the infrastructure of Prayagraj.
– Some amount of this amount of millions should be donated for the establishment of some honest institute of ‘self improvement’ that ‘inspires to speak the truth’ and teaches ‘morality’.
He further writes, “and even after all this, if some money is left, it should be given to those media persons and cameramen who, on your instructions, did not place the camera at the place where there were real pictures exposing the truth of the illegal activities of Maha Kumbh.”
