Author’s arrest

33-year-old author Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa, who lives in Quakers Hill near Sydney, was arrested by the New South Wales Police on Friday. She faced charges of possessing, disseminating and producing child abuse material. After the arrest, she was taken to Riverstone Police Station and was later granted conditional bail. Police also confirmed that she has been summoned to appear in court on March 31.

Author’s response

Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa deactivated her social media accounts, including her LinkedIn profile. She responded to the controversy surrounding her book and called it a “big misunderstanding”. She said, “This book does not promote child sexual abuse or pedophilia.” Tesolin-Mastrosa also said that she had experienced similar incidents when she was younger, and the book is based on her personal experiences. She acknowledged that the criticism on the subject is understandable, but her intention was not to spread any such message.

This arrest has once again sparked a global discussion on sensitive topics such as child abuse and pedophilia. Although the book was based on the author’s personal experiences, it was still widely misinterpreted and faced severe criticism. Currently, legal proceedings are ongoing against the author and her book has been removed from major platforms.
