New Delhi (Staff Correspondent), December 01: US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday warned the BRICS nations over accepting a new BRICS Currency. He said that 100 per cent tariffs will be imposed if they replace U.S. Dollar with BRICS Currency.
Donald Trump wrote on social media website X that they require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.
He further wrote that there was no chance that the BRICS will replace the U.S. Dollar in International Trade, and any Country that tries should wave goodbye to America.
“The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER,” he added.

Russia proposed the creation of a BRICS Cross-Border Payment Initiative (BCBPI) in BRICS submit 2024 in Kazan. This initiative is considered as BRICS Currency. Earlier in 2023, Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva made the proposal to adopt a BRICS Currency.
