The facility’s first batch of precision-machined aerospace components have been manufactured and shipped to Sigma UK where they are undergoing final verification ahead of formal delivery to the customer. The Sri City operation has completed the initial stages of the source-change approval process with Rolls-Royce Aerospace.
The dedicated aerospace manufacturing facility is being developed at Sri City across a larger 500,000 sq ft campus. In just eight months, approximately 75,000 sq ft has been brought into operation, already providing 100,000 machining hours of annual production capacity with this first facility budgeted to reach a production capacity of nearly 300,000 annual machining hours.
The facility is being developed to replicate Sigma UK’s established aerospace manufacturing capability in India, progressively establishing manufacturing capability in India alongside Sigma UK’s operations. The remaining campus will be operational in the next 12 months, to add further manufacturing capacity and aerospace-critical processes. Once these capabilities are fully operational, approximately 70% of the manufacturing process is expected to be undertaken in India. This facility will have all the capabilities and scale to support future acquisitions.

With our first batch of components now manufactured, 100,000 machining hours of annual capacity already operational with the ability to scale to nearly 300,000 machining hours, the facility designed to scale to 500,000 sq ft, Sri City facility will become an important part of Sigma’s global manufacturing platform and expected to drive double digit EBITA expansion.”
Sri City was selected for its ability to support rapid capability development and long-term manufacturing scale, together with access to major international logistics gateways. Its connectivity to four major ports provides efficient connectivity for the facility’s export-oriented operations. Sigma will also develop specialised aerospace manufacturing skills through on-campus training and capability development.
Over the next two to three years, Sigma expects the Sri City operation to employ more than 500 people, creating specialised opportunities across precision manufacturing complex fabrications, specialised welding, engineering, and aerospace process capabilities.
The Sri City facility forms part of Sigma’s broader strategy to establish a multi-site aerospace manufacturing footprint across India and the UK, with complementary capabilities across its operations in both countries. Through its UK subsidiaries, Nasmyth and Bromford, Sigma has established a presence in the global aerospace supply chain, producing complex precision solutions for demanding manufacturing programmes for global OEM customers.
With production now underway, Sigma will continue to expand the Sri City facility, commission additional aerospace-critical processes, progress NADCAP accreditation and increase the proportion of manufacturing undertaken in India.
