Rourkela (Staff Correspondent): Awareness programmes and brain storming sessions were organised at SAIL, Rourkela Steel plant (RSP) to mark ‘World Day for Safety and Health at Work’ on Monday.
A Seminar on ‘Revolutionising Health & Safety – The Role of AI and Digitisation at Workplace’, was organised at L&D Centre, that was chaired by Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM). Present on the occasion were Asha S Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) and other Senior Officers of the Plant. The Departmental Safety Officers, Area Safety Officers and Line Managers from different Departments attended the seminar. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kumar emphasized on the importance of conducting such sessions to increase the safety awareness specific to various digitalisation efforts taken by the departments.
The technical session was conducted by Dr. Pankaj K Sa, Professor, NIT Rourkela. The session covered the various aspects of AI and use of digitalisation in the Workplace. Another technical session on ‘Understanding Heat Stress and its prevention’ was taken by Dr. Surendra Kumar, Deputy CMO, (OHSC).
Asha Kartha welcomed the gathering while Mr. Abakasa Behera, GM (Safety Engineering) proposed the formal vote of thanks. Ms. Prangya Nath, Assistant Manager (Safety) coordinated the programme.
