The draft Petroleum (Amendment) Bill, 2026, along with an explanatory note providing a brief overview of the amendments, has been hosted on the website of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on 30th September, 2026, to invite comments and suggestions from all stakeholders as part of pre-legislative consultation, and the same may be accessed at https://mopng.gov.in/files/Whatsnew/Draft-Amendment-to-the-Petroleum-Act.pdf
Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry said in a press release, “All stakeholders and members of the public are requested to submit their comments/suggestions, if any, on the draft Bill to the Under Secretary (Distribution), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Kartavya Bhawan-03, New Delhi-110001 or send them by email at sodist-png[at]gov[dot]in and richa.86[at]nic[dot]in or before 30th October 2026. The inputs received during the consultation process will be duly examined.”
