Bengaluru: Ola Electric Mobility Limited, India’s largest pure-play electric vehicle (EV) company, today announced a significant milestone in its journey toward sustainable growth and profitability. The company has received formal certification of compliance under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for its Gen 3 scooter portfolio, granted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) under the aegis of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India.
This certification covers all seven models in Ola’s Gen 3 lineup—S1 Pro 3 kWh, S1 Pro 4 kWh, S1 Pro+ 4 kWh, S1 X 2 kWh, S1 X 3 kWh, S1 X 4 kWh, and S1 X+ 4 kWh—which collectively represent the majority of the company’s current sales. With both Gen 2 and Gen 3 portfolios now PLI-certified, Ola Electric is well-positioned to benefit from incentives ranging between 13% and 18% of the determined sales value (DSV) through 2028.
Speaking on the achievement, a spokesperson for Ola Electric said:
“Securing PLI certification for our Gen 3 scooters, which form the bulk of our sales, is a critical step toward profitability. This directly strengthens our cost structure and margins, enabling us to deliver sustainable growth. With our auto business targeted to turn EBITDA positive, the certification acts as a strong catalyst to achieve that goal—while ensuring our customers continue to receive best-in-class EVs at highly competitive prices.”
The company anticipates a meaningful boost to its profitability beginning Q2 of FY26, as the certification unlocks substantial cost efficiencies and margin improvements.
At its recent ‘Sankalp’ annual event, Ola Electric also unveiled new additions to its product portfolio, including the S1 Pro Sport (5.2 kWh and 4 kWh variants), S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh, and the flagship Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, all powered by the advanced 4680 Bharat Cell. These models are priced at ₹1,49,999, ₹1,69,999, and ₹1,89,999 respectively. Deliveries for the S1 Pro Sport will begin in January 2026, while the S1 Pro+ and Roadster X+ will be available starting this Navratri.
