New Delhi (Staff Correspondent): With patriotic spirit resonating throughout the celebration, Meja Urja Nigam commemorated the 79th Independence Day with grandeur and unity. The event reflected the company’s deep-rooted commitment to national pride, inclusivity, and community engagement.
The celebration commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Asesh Kumar Chattopadhyay, CEO, MUNPL, and the Guest of Honour, Krishna Chattopadhyay, President, Aparajita Mahila Samaj.
The Tricolour was ceremoniously hoisted by the Chief Guest, followed by the National Salute, creating an atmosphere charged with patriotism and reverence.
Following the flag hoisting, Shri Chattopadhyay inspected the parade and received a formal salute from the contingents, showcasing discipline and unity among the participants.
In his Independence Day address, the CEO highlighted the importance of freedom, responsibility, and collective growth. He also emphasized MUNPL’s enduring role in contributing to the nation’s power infrastructure and sustainable development.
The event was graced by dignitaries Avijit Chatterjee, CGM (Technical Services), Pankaj Kumar Gupta, CGM (Engineering), Narendra Nath Sinha, GM (O&M), Anand Prakash, GM (Projects), Dr. Manisha Pandey, CMO, Aditya Kumar Mishra, AGM (Contracts & Materials), Vivek Chandra, HoHR, representatives of the Union and Association, along with employees, their families, and members of Aparajita Mahila Samaj, whose enthusiastic participation added warmth and significance to the celebration.
Following the address, members of Aparajita Mahila Samaj, led by their President, Shrimati Krishna Chattopadhyay, presented a soulful patriotic song performance, which beautifully set the tone for the cultural celebrations that followed.
The cultural segment featured heartwarming performances by the children of Our Little Kingdom, Bal Bhavan, Bal Srijan, and St. Joseph’s School, who captivated the audience with their expressions of patriotism, culture, and youthful enthusiasm.
In a gesture of recognition, awards were distributed to employees, CISF personnel, and students for their exceptional contributions and achievements, fostering a culture of excellence, dedication, and discipline.
The event also witnessed a special bicycle distribution ceremony for GEM girls, reinforcing MUNPL’s commitment towards empowering young girls and promoting inclusive education through sustainable mobility.
