The Film Federation of India (FFI) has selected bollywood film ‘Laapataa Ladies’ as India’s official entry for Oscar 2025. The film will compete in the highly prestigious Foreign Film Category. The decision was made public by Jahnu Barua, Chairman of the FFI’s selection committee, who led a 13-member jury through a meticulous process of reviewing the contenders.
A total of 29 films from across India were considered for this coveted nomination. This included 12 Hindi films, 6 Tamil films, and 4 Malayalam films. Among the strong competition, Laapataa Ladies triumphed over notable films, including the highly anticipated Animal.
