New Delhi: The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI), operating under the aegis of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), is pleased to announce the appointment of Akash Tripathi, IAS (MP:1998), as Managing Director. His appointment has been duly approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and is in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
SECI’s leadership framework has now been formally structured, with Santosh Sarangi, IAS, Secretary, MNRE, continuing in his role as Chairman. This governance model ensures robust institutional oversight and focused executive leadership to support SECI’s expanding mandate in the renewable energy sector.
Commenting on the development, Santosh Sarangi, IAS, Chairman, SECI and Secretary, MNRE, stated: “SECI stands at the forefront of India’s renewable energy deployment. SECI, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under MNRE, serves as the designated implementing agency for India’s national renewable energy programmes. Its responsibilities encompass competitive bidding and project facilitation across solar, wind, hybrid, energy storage, offshore wind, and green hydrogen initiatives.
