New Delhi (BharatNeeti): India’s Ministry of Steel is looking to approve formation of the dedicated vertical for mining operations at Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).
SAIL is one of largest steel manufacturing companies in India operating under the Ministry of Steel.
There is a proposal floated for formation of a mining vertical in the company for better operations, a senior government official said in a conversation with BharatNeeti.
A separate department will focus on increasing iron ore production in line with the company’s expansion plans, the official said requesting not to disclose identity.
The structure of the vertical is being discussed at present and then it will be to SAIL for further course of action.
