New Delhi: Biocon Limited, a global innovation-led biopharmaceutical company, has officially inaugurated its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Cranbury, New Jersey. Operated by its wholly owned subsidiary, Biocon Generics Inc (BGI), the facility represents a strategic leap in Biocon’s global footprint and commitment to expanding access to affordable therapies.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Honourable Governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy, who served as the guest of honour. Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, along with a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, customers, partners, and industry leaders, marked the occasion.
$30 Million Investment in State-of-the-Art Facility
Biocon acquired the Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) facility from Eywa Pharma Inc. in 2023 and has since invested over USD 30 million to upgrade it into a cutting-edge manufacturing site. With an annual production capacity of 2 billion tablets, the FDA-approved facility has already begun commercializing select products, with more in the pipeline.
This expansion strengthens Biocon’s supply chain, enhances manufacturing resilience, and enables faster delivery of essential therapies to patients across the United States.
