Greater Noida(Energy Desk):ABB India Ltd. has successfully commissioned its ABB Ability™ SCADAvantage solution for THINK Gas Pvt. Ltd., enabling complete automation and digitalization of its City Gas Distribution (CGD) network across ten Indian states.
The strategic partnership marks a new era in digital innovation for the natural gas sector. THINK Gas, which operates over 500 CNG fuel stations across India, has adopted ABB’s cloud-based automation platform to centralize operations, enhance real-time visibility, and streamline gas distribution through its control room based in Chennai.
The automation platform supports centralized price management, gas planning and reconciliation, pressure and flow control, and manpower optimization—resulting in up to 60% reduction in operational costs, especially in operator costs.
“At THINK Gas, we always strive to adopt global best practices in safety and technology to ensure secure and efficient energy delivery,” said Chiradeep Datta, COO of THINK Gas. “Partnering with ABB has helped us significantly boost our operational efficiency and decision-making by leveraging real-time data and automation.”
ABB’s SCADAvantage is now managing THINK Gas’s vast CGD infrastructure that includes:
-
19 Geographical Areas (GAs)
