Mumbai (Defence Correspondent): Indian Navy’s Mission Deployed warship INS Tarkash on Monday interdicted and seized over 2,500 kgs of narcotics in the Western Indian Ocean.
Indian Navy informed on Wednesday, “On 31Mar 25, Tarkash in a closely coordinated operation with the Maritime Operations Centre in Mumbai & #IndianNavy’s P-8I aircraft, successfully interdicted and seized over 2,500 kgs of narcotics, including 2,386 kgs of hashish and 121kgs of heroin, from a dhow.”
The Navy further writes, “This seizure showcases the Indian Navy’s effectiveness and professionalism in deterring and disrupting illicit activities, including narcotics trafficking at sea.”
Part of Western Flee, INS Tarkash is deployed for Maritime Security Operations in the Western Indian Ocean and is undertaking Maritime Interdiction Operations as part of the CTF 150 led Joint Focused Operation ANZAC Tiger.
