GOC White Knight Corps reviews operational preparedness along the LOC

Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva, the General Officer in Commanding (GOC), White Knight Corps, has reviewed operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jhangar village of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The move comes just days after two soldiers of the White Knights Corps were killed in action during a gunbattle with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district while two others were injured. The injured were admitted in Command Hospital, Udhampur for treatment.

The incident took place last month after which, in a statement, IndianArmy posted on ‘X’, “GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks salute the supreme sacrifice of the #Bravehearts; offer deepest condolences to the families.”

The GOC, during his visit to Jhangar village in Rajouri, not only complimented the soldiers on duty there for their dedication towards challenges in the region but also lauded them for their professionalism.

Further, the GOC also inaugurated Usman Community Learning Centre & Career Counselling Hub at Jhangar and dedicated it to the local population.

In July this year, General Upendra Dwivedi, who had then recently taken over as the chief of army staff, visited the forward locations of the White Knight Corps in the Jammu region, specially areas that had witnessed increased militancy since last year along the Line of Control (LoC).

Shortly after the General’s visit, Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva, General Officer in Commanding (GOC) White Knight Corps, had then also assessed the security situation in the areas of Poonch, another district that has recently witnessed repeated terrorist activities.

The GOC also visited Lower Krishna Ghati (LKG) to review the security situation in the region. LKG is a border areas located near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch’s Mendhar sub division and is also considered sensitive in terms of infiltration from the Line of Control.

During this visit also the security review was conducted and operational preparedness of forces was examined. The review, army had then said, underscored the imperative of seamless domination by Indian Army to maintain peace and stability in the region.

Two days prior to this the GOC White Knight Corps had visit Kalakote area of Rajouri district where he interacted with troops and had examine security situation.
