Rajnath Singh said, “Over the past 12 years, not only has the capacity of our Defence Sector increased, but there has also been a significant change in our approach towards strengthening national security. Now, our focus is no longer limited merely to meeting the current needs. Rather, today we are moving forward in the direction of creating a self-reliant and Future-Oriented Defence Ecosystem.”
He said, “The ecosystem of defence manufacturing in India has completely transformed today. There are DPSUs. There are private industries. There are more than 16,000 MSMEs. There are startups. There are universities. There are research institutions. There are individual innovators. This new defence industrial complex is not limited to Delhi or any single city. From Uttar Pradesh to Tamil Nadu. From Gujarat to Maharashtra. From Karnataka to Telangana. A new network of defence manufacturing is taking shape in different parts of the country.”
Rajnath Singh particularly thanked youth’s participations in this sector. He said, “We told the youth, don’t just become job seekers looking for jobs. Become job creators. But in the defence sector, we went even further and said, become technology partners for the Nation’s Security. iDEX is the result of this very thinking. Through schemes like iDEX and iDEX – Prime, we are promoting Defence Innovations.”
