New Delhi: The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management (DTHM), Central University of Haryana, formally flagged off the Tourism Day Celebration 2026 with an engaging and knowledge-oriented Tourism Quiz as the inaugural activity. The quiz was organised by Dr. K. N. Lokesh Kumar and Dr. Vivek Balyan under the able leadership of Prof. Ankush Ambardar, Head, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, in the presence of the faculty members of the department.
The quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students and research scholars belonging to different disciplines, making the event interdisciplinary, interactive and encouraging. The participation from students beyond the tourism discipline reflected the growing interest and awareness of tourism as a multidisciplinary field encompassing culture, geography, hospitality, technology, sustainability, destinations and contemporary developments.
The quiz covered a wide range of themes related to tourism, hospitality, destinations, culture, geography, current developments, and technology and AI in tourism. The participants displayed considerable enthusiasm, knowledge and competitive spirit throughout the event.
The successful conduct of the Tourism Quiz marked an enthusiastic beginning to the Tourism Day Celebration 2026 and provided a vibrant platform for academic interaction, knowledge sharing and student engagement. The event also highlighted the department’s commitment to promoting tourism education through innovative and participatory activities.
