CUH Faculty Secures Two AICTE Research Projects Worth ₹60 Lakh

New Delhi: In a major boost to the research ecosystem of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, Dr. Anshu Sharma, Assistant Professor of Physics in the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, has secured two prestigious research projects under the AICTE Research Promotion Scheme (RPS): Lab to Market 2025, with a combined funding of ₹60 lakh.

Congratulating Dr. Sharma, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Haryana, described the achievement as a matter of great pride for the University. He said that securing two competitive AICTE-funded projects reflects CUH’s rapidly growing research ecosystem and its commitment to innovation aligned with national priorities. He expressed confidence that the projects would make significant contributions to clean energy and advanced energy storage technologies while further strengthening the University’s research excellence at the national level.

As Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Sharma has been awarded ₹33 lakh for the project titled “Design and Development of MOFs@CQDs Electrode Materials Based Supercapacitor Devices,” which aims to develop advanced supercapacitors for efficient energy storage applications in electric vehicles, portable electronics, and renewable energy systems.

She has also received ₹27 lakh as Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) for the project “Clean Energy and Environmental Applications of Graphitic Carbon Nitride based Nanomaterials towards Sustainable Development.” The project focuses on developing innovative nanomaterials for clean energy generation and environmental remediation, supporting sustainable development goals.

Dr. Sharma is a leading researcher in nanomaterials, energy storage, photocatalysis, and environmental remediation. Since joining CUH in February 2020, she has completed three externally funded projects as PI, is currently leading another funded project, published 40 research papers, secured six published patents and one filed patent, and successfully supervised four Ph.D. scholars.
