Greater Noida: The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC), Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh commenced a two-week Multidisciplinary Refresher Course on “Reimagining Education in the 21st Century” in online mode on Friday. The programme has attracted 123 faculty participants from 22 States and Union Territories across India.
Addressing the inaugural session as the Chief Guest, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Haryana, highlighted various dimensions of the contemporary education system and emphasized the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in teaching-learning processes. He underlined the importance of integrating technology with education to foster innovation, creativity, and critical thinking among learners.
The programme began with a welcome address by Prof. Parmod Kumar, Director, UGC-MMTTC and Head, Department of Teacher Education, CUH, who outlined the objectives and significance of the refresher course. Prof. Tanu Gupta, Deputy Director, UGC-MMTTC and Head, Department of English, formally introduced the Chief Guest.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Vishal Sood, Dean, School of Education, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, on the theme “NEP-2020: Multi-disciplinary and Holistic Education.” He discussed the transformative vision of the National Education Policy 2020, emphasizing multidisciplinary learning, curricular flexibility, skill-based education, and holistic development. The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Mahendar Kakkerla, Programme Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, coordinators, and participants for their valuable contributions.
