Mumbai: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) continues to lead from the front in managing India’s evolving energy demand landscape, delivering record operational throughput while maintaining seamless supply across the country.

Between 1st and 10th April 2026, HPCL recorded sales of 3,79,827 KL of Petrol (MS) and 6,91,189 KL of Diesel (HSD), translating into a movement of over 10.7 lakh KL of fuel—one of the highest supply cycles in recent times. This was enabled through the deployment of 70,540 tankers, ensuring real-time replenishment and uninterrupted availability across its extensive retail network.

At a time when demand has surged across multiple markets, HPCL’s ability to combine scale, speed, and coordination has ensured that supply remains steady and responsive nationwide.

In the LPG segment, HPCL has further reinforced its leadership, delivering 146.4 lakh cylinders during the same period. The Company’s robust infrastructure continues to operate at peak capacity, ensuring timely deliveries even under elevated demand conditions.

The growing demand for Free Trade LPG cylinders—2,94,126 units of 5 Kg and 20,112 units of 2 Kg—also reflects HPCL’s expanding role in enabling inclusive and flexible energy access, particularly for migrant and economically vulnerable households.

A defining pillar of HPCL’s operational excellence is its near-total digital ecosystem. With 99.2% of LPG bookings now routed through digital platforms, the Company is setting new benchmarks in customer convenience, speed, and transparency. Each delivery is secured through DAC/OTP authentication, ensuring a seamless and tamper-proof consumer experience.

Parallel to its large-scale supply operations, HPCL has significantly strengthened its vigilance and enforcement framework, adopting a zero-tolerance approach to malpractices.

Between 14th March and 10th April 2026, the Company:

  • Conducted 4,750 inspections
  • Took action against 98 distributors, including 29 suspensions
  • Carried out 659 raids
  • Registered 41 FIRs and seized 3,623 LPG cylinders

This integrated approach of scale-backed supply and strict enforcement ensures that energy reaches genuine consumers without disruption, even during periods of heightened demand.

HPCL reiterated that fuel and LPG supplies remain stable across its network, and any temporary pressure in select locations is primarily the result of short-term demand surges and precautionary consumer behaviour, rather than any systemic supply constraint.

Consumers are advised to avoid panic-driven purchases and adhere to normal consumption patterns, while relying exclusively on official HPCL communication channels for accurate information.
