New Delhi: ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ACME Solar), one of India’s leading renewable energy developers, has successfully commissioned an additional 16 MW of its 100 MW wind power project located in Surendranagar, Gujarat. This marks the second phase of the project, following the commissioning of 28 MW in October 2025. With this milestone, the project’s operational capacity now stands at 44 MW.

The commissioning was witnessed and validated by officials from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL). A formal commissioning certificate is expected to be issued shortly. The project is being developed in phases and is expected to reach full capacity by its revised Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) of 5 March 2026.

The wind power project is being financed by Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and constructed through ACME’s in-house EPC capabilities. It utilizes SANY’s 4 MW wind turbines, known for their efficiency and reliability. The power generated will be sold under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed between ACME Eco Clean and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) recently granted an extension to the project’s SCOD, recognizing Force Majeure events under the terms of the PPA. Despite the extension, ACME Solar has achieved early commissioning of 44 MW, demonstrating its commitment to timely execution and operational excellence.

With this addition, ACME Solar’s total operational renewable energy capacity has now reached 2,934 MW, reinforcing its position as a key contributor to India’s clean energy transition.

Project Highlights:

  • Location: Surendranagar, Gujarat
  • Total Project Capacity: 100 MW
  • Commissioned So Far: 44 MW (28 MW in October + 16 MW in November)
  • Turbine Technology: SANY 4 MW turbines
  • Financing Partner: Power Finance Corporation (PFC)
  • PPA Partner: Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL)
  • Revised SCOD: 5 March 2026
  • Total Operational Capacity (ACME Solar): 2,934 MW

This project is a testament to ACME Solar’s strategic focus on expanding its renewable energy footprint through timely execution, robust partnerships, and cutting-edge technology. It also aligns with India’s broader goal of accelerating the adoption of clean energy and reducing carbon emissions.
