Mumbai: Sunita Tools Limited, a veteran engineering firm with over four decades of expertise, has announced a strategic acquisition of a majority stake in Avisan Global Tech Private Limited and Avisan Engineering Enterprises—collectively known as the Avisan Group. This move marks Sunita Tools’ formal entry into the naval defence and shipbuilding segment, positioning the company as a rising force in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The acquisition comes at a pivotal moment for Sunita Tools, which is nearing commercial production at its artillery shells facility. With this expansion, the company now ventures into naval weapons installation, ship retrofitting, and advanced maritime defence systems—areas where Avisan Group has built a strong reputation.
Avisan Group, known for its specialized work in weapons integration and naval engineering, reported combined sales of ₹6.27 crore in FY25 and holds an impressive order book exceeding ₹20.53 crore. Its clientele includes marquee names such as the Navy Weapons Department, Hindustan Shipyard, Goa Shipyard, Cummins, and Larsen & Toubro. Current projects span installation of missile systems, sonar and surveillance radar upgrades—including work on INS Vikrant—and retrofitting of various naval vessels.
