Mumbai: Patel Engineering Ltd has announced the receipt of two Letters of Intent (LOIs) from Saidax Engineers and Infrastructures Pvt Ltd for the execution of excavation and associated works at South Eastern Coalfields Limited’s (SECL) Jhiria West OCP project in Hasdeo Area, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The combined project value stands at ₹798.19 crores (excluding taxes).
The scope of work under these LOIs is extensive, covering composite overburden removal including rehandling, coal cutting by surface miner, loading and transportation of coal, hiring of all required plant and equipment, supply of diesel, complete maintenance of machinery, and deployment of staff and labour for execution of works.
With a proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, Patel Engineering is well-positioned to execute this assignment seamlessly. The company’s expertise in handling complex excavation and coal transportation projects further strengthens its credibility in the mining and infrastructure sector.
Commenting on the development, Kavita Shirvaikar, Managing Director of Patel Engineering Ltd, stated: “These new projects represent a natural extension of the large-scale infrastructure works we undertake and also open up new avenues. Importantly, these works come in addition to a robust tender pipeline of more than ₹34,000 crores already bid and under evaluation, as well as further opportunities worth ₹18,000 crores expected to come up for bidding before the end of this financial year. Looking ahead, nearly ₹1 lakh crores of projects are anticipated to come up for bidding over the next one to two years in the core areas that we operate. With these opportunities, we are confident that our order book will grow substantially in the coming year and beyond.”
This milestone not only enhances Patel Engineering’s order book but also reflects the growing opportunities in India’s coal and infrastructure sectors, where demand for efficient excavation and transportation solutions continues to rise.
