Greater Noida (National Desk):The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a chargesheet against C.P. Moideen alias Girish, a top leader of the banned CPI (Maoist), in connection with an anti-India conspiracy case.
According to the NIA, Moideen has been charged under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The supplementary chargesheet was submitted before the NIA Special Court in Hyderabad.
The investigation revealed Moideen’s key role in the Maoist conspiracy to wage war against the Government of India. He was a core member of the Western Ghats Special Zonal Committee (WGSZC) of CPI (Maoist) and later took charge as Secretary of WGSZC after the arrest of Sanjoy Deepak Rao in September 2023.

Moideen led PLGA squads in the region, recruited new members, spread Maoist ideology, and planned violent attacks targeting security forces in the Kerala–Karnataka–Tamil Nadu tri-junction area.

He was initially taken into custody by Kerala Police in August 2024 and formally arrested by the NIA in January 2025.
The case was originally registered by the Telangana Police in September 2023 following Rao’s arrest. Rao was caught with arms, ammunition, and Maoist literature. The NIA later took over the case and filed the chargesheet against Rao, continuing its efforts to dismantle the CPI (Maoist)’s urban and armed networks.
