Mumbai: Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries Limited (NSE: MANAKCOAT, BSE: 539046), a leading manufacturer and exporter of coated steel products, announced the launch of a 7 MWp DC ground-mounted solar power project in Gujarat. The initiative, undertaken under the Open Access mechanism, follows a strategic agreement with Prozeal Green Energy Limited, one of India’s premier renewable energy EPC and IPP firms.
Specializing in pre-painted and plain galvanized steel in coil and sheet forms, Manaksia Coated Metals aims to offset 50–55% of its grid power dependency and reduce power costs by up to 50% through this solar installation. The project is expected to be commissioned in Q1 FY27 and will deploy cutting-edge Mono Bifacial N-Type TOPCon modules mounted on a Single Axis Tracker system to maximize solar generation.
Key highlights of the project include:
- Capacity: 7 MWp captive solar power plant
- Location: Gujarat
- Technology: Mono Bifacial N-Type TOPCon modules with Single Axis Tracker
- Annual Energy Generation: Approx. 13.30 million units
- Carbon Offset: Estimated 9,000 tons of CO₂ annually, equivalent to planting over 400,000 trees
The solar project is designed to supply clean electricity for captive consumption, aligning with the company’s long-term sustainability goals. It will significantly reduce embedded carbon emissions per ton of production, enhance profitability, and provide stable energy for future expansion.
Commenting on the development, Karan Agrawal, Whole Time Director of Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries Limited, stated, “This solar initiative is a testament to our commitment to responsible growth and environmental stewardship. Partnering with Prozeal Green Energy Limited ensures the highest standards of project execution and aligns with our vision of sustainable industrial operations. By setting up a 7 MWp captive solar power plant in Gujarat, we are taking a long-term view of our energy needs—focusing on stability, cost efficiency, and environmental responsibility.”
He added that the advanced solar technologies being deployed will ensure consistent power generation and long-term value, even under low-light conditions. The initiative supports the Government of India’s renewable energy vision and reinforces the company’s focus on sustainable manufacturing.
Manan Thakkar, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Prozeal Green Energy Limited, remarked, “We are proud to support Manaksia Coated Metals Industries Limited in their renewable energy transition. This collaboration showcases how industrial consumers can leverage the Open Access model to achieve both sustainability and economic efficiency.”
This milestone reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to accelerate India’s clean energy transformation and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s Net Zero 2070 goal.
