Mumbai: JSW Steel reported its highest-ever quarterly consolidated crude steel production at 7.90 million tonnes for Q2 FY26, marking a 17% year-on-year (YoY) growth and a 9% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase. The company’s Indian operations contributed 7.66 million tonnes, while JSW Steel USA – Ohio maintained steady output at 0.24 million tonnes. Capacity utilisation at Indian facilities stood at an impressive 92% for the quarter.

H1 FY26 cumulative production
JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel production for H1 FY26 reached 15.16 million tonnes, up 16% from 13.12 million tonnes in H1 FY25. Indian operations contributed 14.69 million tonnes, a 15% YoY increase, while JSW Steel USA – Ohio produced 0.48 million tonnes, up from 0.37 million tonnes last year.
Operational updates and capacity expansion
- JVML commissioning: JSW Steel’s wholly owned subsidiary JVML commissioned its second converter on 30 August 2025, making the full 34.2 MTPA crude steel capacity in India operational.
- JVML ramp-up: The integrated 5 MTPA operations at JVML achieved 88% capacity utilisation in September 2025, indicating strong operational momentum.
- Vijayanagar upgrade: Blast Furnace 3 at Vijayanagar was shut down for 150 days starting late September to upgrade hot metal capacity from 3 MTPA to 4.5 MTPA.
