The first step when leaving any job is to submit a formal resignation. This is usually a polite, grateful and professional way of expressing gratitude to the employer and promising to keep in touch in the future. However, in some cases people submit their resignation in a short and bold way, but recently an employee took a completely different and unexpected approach. An employee submitted his resignation in just seven words: “Charity accounting is not for me. I am quitting.” There was no gratitude or politeness in this extremely short and simply written resignation. It was clearly an unexpected and unconventional way, which went viral very quickly on social media.

The incident became a topic of discussion on Reddit, where a user shared a photo of this resignation letter left on his colleague’s desk. The user wrote in the post, “Our newest employee was missing, then we found this on his desk.” The post sparked a lively discussion on Reddit, with people sharing their experiences. Some users found it honest, while others labelled it “rude” and “unprofessional”.

Dramatic moments at the workplace

Some Reddit users also shared their interesting and sometimes dramatic stories about how they quit their jobs. One user shared that he once worked at “Best Buy” and after management called for extra shifts, he decided not to come to work for a month and then suddenly left the company. Another user shared, “Where I worked, an employee suddenly disappeared. We were told he was missing, but later found out he had already decided the company sucked.” A third user shared, “I once quit my job via a Post-It. Both HR and my boss had already quit. The intranet was down, so I left the note and said goodbye to four people.”

The fourth user shared his story, saying, “I once worked for an insufferable manager and company. I wrote on my resignation letter, ‘You are insufferable and you have fired me from this job. I will be glad to never see you again.’ I stuck it on his desk and left in my car.”

This viral resignation letter has sparked an interesting discussion on social media, where people are sharing their stories about quitting their jobs. For some, it was an honest and true response, while for others it was unacceptable and negative behavior in a professional environment. However, this incident shows that sometimes the dissatisfaction with the work environment and the employer becomes so intense that employees choose to simply resign instead of expressing it in words.
