EcoVadis has rated more than 175,000 companies across 180+ Countries. Its assessment covers 21 sustainability criteria across four themes: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Companies are asked to submit evidence for their policies, the actions taken under them and the results achieved.
Large enterprises, particularly in Europe and the US, face growing pressure from regulators and investors to manage sustainability risk across their supply chains, and many use EcoVadis ratings to assess suppliers. For an engineering services company whose clients run these checks, an independent rating speeds up supplier review and answers questions clients would otherwise ask one questionnaire at a time.
“Our clients see sustainability on the supplier scorecard long before it reaches anyone’s annual report,” said Avinash Sethi, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer, InfoBeans. “Their procurement teams want evidence, and so do our investors. So, we submitted our documentations for an assessment, and earning the Bronze Medal confirms that our foundations are strong. The scorecard also gives us a clear roadmap to the next level. In finance, a roadmap comes with targets and owners, and this one already has both.”
“An assessment like this asks for proof, page by page: the policy, the record that shows it is followed, the data behind every number,” said Neha Chouhan, Director –Process Engineering & Compliance, InfoBeans. “It took people across governance, people, finance, audit and operations to put that evidence together, and most of them have never had sustainability in their job title. The medal is theirs. The improvement plan for our next assessment is already in motion.”
