New Delhi: Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, has been conferred with the International Higher Education Excellence Award 2026 in recognition of his notable contribution to the field of higher education. The award was presented on September 28, 2026, during the International Right to Information Day and Conference 2026, held at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The event was organised by the RTI Institute of India.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar received the award in recognition of his contributions to higher education, academic leadership and his role in the development of the university. Manish Kumar Shekhar, Chairman of the RTI Institute of India, presented the award during the ceremony.
On this occasion, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar emphasised that quality teaching, research, innovation and transparency are essential for achieving excellence in higher education. He described the recognition as the outcome of the collective efforts of the university’s faculty members, research scholars, students and the entire university fraternity.
It is noteworthy that the Central University of Haryana has been making continuous progress in academic excellence, research, innovation and skill development at national and international levels. In alignment with the National Education Policy, the university is actively promoting academic initiatives and fostering a conducive environment for research and innovation.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar’s achievement was widely appreciated by the university fraternity. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar, Deans of various Schools, Heads of Departments, faculty members, officers and staff members congratulated him on receiving the prestigious award and described it as a matter of pride for the university.
