Greater Noida: A two-day workshop, “MM(DU) Strategy Conclave: Roadmap to Global Excellence & Top Rankings,” jointly organized by the Research & Development Cell and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), commenced on July 3, 2026, with the participation of the university leadership, faculty, and academic administrators.

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Tarun Gulati, Director, IQAC, emphasized the importance of strengthening the research ecosystem to achieve global excellence and improve institutional rankings.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) B. Sridhar Reddy, Pro Vice Chancellor, who stated that the conclave aims to develop a strategic roadmap for enhancing research, global visibility, academic reputation, and the university’s performance in national and international rankings.

The resource person, Dr. Sheeba Pakkan, Professor, Bibliometrician, and Head, Research Support Services, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, delivered an interactive session on fostering a strong research culture. She highlighted the need to balance research with academic responsibilities and demonstrated the use of research tools such as Scopus AI and Mendeley for literature review, identifying research gaps, journal selection, and research collaboration.
The workshop concluded with the valedictory address by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Harish Sharma, who observed that higher education institutions are increasingly evaluated on research excellence, innovation, global collaborations, societal impact, and academic reputation. Referring to ranking frameworks such as NIRF, QS, and Times Higher Education, he expressed confidence that the conclave would help formulate actionable strategies to strengthen MM(DU)’s research ecosystem, academic excellence, innovation, and global standing.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Adesh Saini, Director, Research & Development, who expressed his sincere gratitude to the resource person and all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and for making the sessions highly interactive and informative.
