Pune: Motul India showcased its future-focused lubrication and fluid technologies at SIAT Expo 2026, aligning its presentation with the event’s theme, Innovative Pathways for Safe and Sustainable Mobility. Through the showcase, Motul presented technologies developed to support evolving mobility architectures, sustainability goals, and next-generation powertrains, including direct cooling solutions for e-motors, power electronics, and immersive battery cooling, demonstrating how advanced lubrication can contribute to safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible mobility systems.
Motul highlighted the work of its global research and development teams, which continue to advance lubricant technologies for existing internal combustion engines, including hydrogen ICEs, while simultaneously enabling innovative solutions for emerging mobility platforms such as electric vehicle batteries and next-generation powertrains. The showcase is a reflection of Motul’s approach in developing high-performance technologies that respond to regional requirements, regulatory frameworks, and future market readiness.
Dr Julien Plet, Global Head of R&D, Motul said, “Motul’s research and development teams across geographies continue to focus on advancing lubricant performance for existing powertrains while developing technologies aligned with future mobility needs and local market conditions.” Dr Julien also presented the keynote address on Innovative Fluids for NextGen Mobility at SIAT 2026.
Among the key technologies on display was Motul’s E-Gen fluid technology series, designed for hybrid and electric vehicles. The fluids support the thermal management of electric motors, battery systems, and power electronics—areas critical to electric vehicle reliability and efficiency. Motul presented E-Gen as a future-ready solution, aligned with the evolution of electrified mobility, and positioned it for markets once adoption and infrastructure reach the required scale.
Motul also showcased NGEN, its sustainable lubricant range developed using base oils derived from re-refined lubricants. The technology represented Motul’s commitment to circular economy principles and responsible resource use. The company positioned NGEN as part of its long-term sustainability roadmap, focusing on technical credibility and environmental responsibility rather than near-term market rollout.
In line with SIAT Expo’s future fuels focus, Motul presented lubricant technologies developed for hydrogen internal combustion engines. The showcase presented Motul’s early-stage research investments and its readiness to support alternative propulsion technologies before they reach widespread commercial adoption.
Motul further demonstrated its race-to-road engineering philosophy through OEM-validated technologies. The showcase included a Motul-developed lubricant that received Mercedes-Benz approval, meeting stringent global performance benchmarks. Motul also presented a lubricant developed in collaboration with Toyota Racing Development, combining hands-on motorsport engineering and real-world performance validation. These collaborations reinforced Motul’s approach of using motorsport as a development and testing platform rather than positioning products for immediate market introduction.
Nagendra Pai, CEO, Motul India & South Asia said, ‘’SIAT Expo is a key platform for future mobility, and Motul is proud to showcase its global innovation strength in India. By combining advanced technologies with local adaptability, Motul is ready to lead solutions across electrification, sustainability & alternative fuels “
By participating in SIAT Expo 2026, Motul India strengthens its position as an innovation-driven partner to the automotive and mobility ecosystem. With a strong global R&D backbone, deep OEM relationships, and a clear view of future propulsion trends, Motul demonstrated its readiness to support the Indian mobility ecosystem with future-ready technologies as the industry continues to evolve.
