Greater Noida(Business Desk):NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) to develop 300 MW or more of renewable energy projects, with or without energy storage solutions, in the state of Goa.
The MoU was formally exchanged on July 18, 2025, between Shri Gauresh Ashok Pilgaonkar, Managing Director of GEDA, and Shri Pushpendra Tyagi, CFO of NTPC REL. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa and other senior government and corporate officials.
This partnership marks a major step toward accelerating Goa’s transition to clean and sustainable energy. The proposed projects aim to support the state’s renewable energy goals, enhance energy security, and contribute to India’s overall climate commitments.
NTPC REL, through this collaboration, will explore and implement renewable energy solutions that may include solar, wind, or hybrid projects, potentially integrated with energy storage systems to ensure stability and reliability in power supply.
The MoU reflects the growing synergy between public sector enterprises and state agencies in promoting green energy initiatives and achieving India’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
